Painting Beasts…

May 18th, 2012

You may remember this sketch from a few months ago, I always intended to return to it eventually… so here it is, painted up. I’m especially happy with the eyes, but I may come back and give the horns a bit of extra attention. Anyway, here it is as it stands.

Booties…

April 4th, 2012

Finally finished mapping and painting the boots. This has been the most challenging part of the project so far, as there was way more geometry to map this time around. I’m pretty pleased with the results though, all in all, its probably the best texture painting on the model so far but I’m having some trouble with hiding some of the UV seams. Luckily they are pretty hard to spot when the model is fully in shot, but a close up on the boots reveals them slightly more.

The Inverted City

November 10th, 2011

Interior speed painting of the Inverted City. The concept came to me after listening to Funeralopolis by Electric Wizard, the titleĀ  conjured images of some kind of subterranean city – rock-hewn from the cavern it inhabits, inverted and hanging from the ceiling.
Watch this space for an exterior painting.

Skinning Scounts…

October 24th, 2011

So here’s the finished cloth and belt sections of the scout, I’m pretty pleased with the results so far seeing as I taught myself how to do this UV mapping lark.

Working on Textures

October 1st, 2011

Basically spent my day painting textures and trying to get my head around UV mapping without it distorting all of my hard work!

Looking to Windward…

August 6th, 2011

The beginnings of a new painting. This is my interpretation of Ziller, from Look To Windward by Iain M Banks. So far so good.

Come on, who doesn’t like Tali? Here’s a quick sketch I did of her, seriously… I think this is character design at its best, well done Bioware.

Still haven’t thought of a name for this thing yet…

June 21st, 2011

Just a lil concept sheet for a creature. I’ll get around to painting / modeling this thing eventually I hope. I quite like it.
