Interior speed painting of the Inverted City. The concept came to me after listening to Funeralopolis by Electric Wizard, the title conjured images of some kind of subterranean city – rock-hewn from the cavern it inhabits, inverted and hanging from the ceiling.
Watch this space for an exterior painting.

So here’s the finished cloth and belt sections of the scout, I’m pretty pleased with the results so far seeing as I taught myself how to do this UV mapping lark.

Basically spent my day painting textures and trying to get my head around UV mapping without it distorting all of my hard work!

The beginnings of a new painting. This is my interpretation of Ziller, from Look To Windward my Iain M Banks. So far so good.

Come on, who doesn’t like Tali? Here’s a quick sketch I did of her, seriously… I think this is character design at its best, well done Bioware.

Just a lil concept sheet for a creature. I’ll get around to painting / modeling this thing eventually I hope. I quite like it.

My first crack at UV mapping. I know it’s only a box but I’m actually pretty proud of myself, anyway, here’s two examples made out of one simple texture (with added embellishment in the form of some simple text). The one on the left has normal, bump map and displacement maps as well as an occluison map, the one on the right is just the texture by itself.

The finished model, still don’t know how I’m going to do the hair yet though, either with an array of planes and alpha textures, or with Cinema 4D’s hair engine.. anyway, I’ll get to that later.
